Asked us to make something really really good for his family's Ethiopian honey wine, Tej, business.

There's a new wave of millennials taking over their family businesses, and with it comes an inevitable truth: some will rise, and some will fail. Most will blame marketing when things don't work out, and some will be right. But the reality is often simpler—the product itself wasn't taken care of the way it once was. Quality slipped. Standards dropped. The foundation cracked.
With The Heritage Winery, that's not the story. When Kirubell Araya took over the honey wine business founded by his father, Araya S. Yibrehu, the product didn't decline or stall. It elevated. Kirubell's attention to the product itself—and to its presentation—gave us the kind of runway every creative team dreams of: something genuinely excellent to work with.
We built on what he was already doing. Kirubell had already worked to rebrand the product, and we helped build on top of that foundation—creating a website that reflected the care he puts into every bottle and content systems that made it easy for him to tell his story. This wasn't about rescuing a struggling brand or covering up weak foundations with clever marketing. This was about taking something great and making sure the world could see it.
What we're most proud of is simple: we were able to provide high-level work for a family business that deserved it. Because when the product is right, everything else falls into place.
Here's what Kirubell asked us to build:
Working with Ababa has been an incredible experience. As the owner of The Heritage Winery, I truly appreciate how they’ve helped bring our family story to life in such a creative and authentic way. Their attention to detail, storytelling, and passion for what we do has made a real impact on our brand. We’re grateful to have them as part of our journey.
